Survey Company Payments
The foremost thing on most people’s minds when they hear about the opportunity to get paid for taking surveys is how much money they will be able to make. I have seen the claims out there about people earning $150 per hour taking surveys! I can’t say it’s impossible just because I’ve never done it. I guess I was never lucky enough to come across one of those.
I can tell you from personal experience that the most I ever earned for a single survey was $35 and it took me almost an hour. That is not the norm. Most surveys pay less, but take much less time as well.
Often you earn points for each survey that you can later exchange for cash or merchandise which makes it more difficult to pin it down to an exact wage per hour. Also, you sometimes get to try out new products before they hit the market so that can be fun as well as money-saving since you don’t have to buy those products on your trips to the grocery store or department store.

Can you find and join survey companies for free? Yes, you can. I have joined several and actively answer surveys for about seven different companies. If you have never joined one before, it is very simple to sign up and take surveys with one of them. Once you complete your first one, you will see how easy it is.

When I first put up this site with the idea of sharing ways to make money from home, I explained my opinion on whether people should spend money to get access to a survey database. Since my goal was to make money online without any investment, I concluded that it wasn’t necessary to pay for survey databases since I was able to find survey companies like those in the previous section on my own and join them for free. Now that I have been doing online surveys for over a year, I have changed my mind and here’s why - in order to bring in a decent income with this method, you really need to be a member of many companies – a lot more than the few to which I belong.
Some people are like me and are willing to take as long as necessary to research something as long as it’s free. However, most people I know would gladly pay a fee to someone else who has already done the research so that can skip to the next stage in the process.
