Free Legitimate Work at Home Jobs
Is there such thing as a free legitimate work at home job? Of course there is. Unfortunately, way too many work at home opportunities are neither free, nor legitimate. This is a classic case of "let the buyer beware." In fact, it is almost humorous that one even needs to bring up the word "buyer" in this context since the only money exchanged in employment opportunities should be flowing from employer to employee or contractor, not the other way around.
If you are researching free legitimate work at home jobs on the Internet, then your best defense is a good offense. That requires you to recognize scams when you see them. This article talks about two of the more prevalent scams you are likely to find in the work at home industry.
Free & Legitimate Work At Home Jobs Test
One scam that has been around long before the Internet was even invented is that of stuffing envelopes. These so-called opportunities immediately fail the free and legitimate test because they are not free. Companies require potential home workers to pay for printed materials, envelopes, mailing list names, and postage costs. This is completely inapproriate. You should not be going into debt to start a new work from home job.
Another type of opportunity you may find, especially in classified ads sections is that of assembling items at home. Again, companies are asking for your money upfront, ostensibly for training or sample materials, but in reality that is the way they generate revenue. Once again, they fail to pass the free and legitimate test because they are not free.
Some people are even willing to over look the free portion of the test because these work from home assembly companies have convincing ad copy that states purchasing those materials up front is an investment in your own future or an investment in your own work from home business. Even if you are willing to go that far in your assessment, the opportunity still fails the test because the companies are not legitimate. They will never purchase any assembled items from you. They make their money selling the sample kits.
